WatzNew regularly checks your favourite web sites and mailboxes and notifies you of changes. You can use it to gather news, monitor weather, track new software releases, web site statistics and stock quotes.

The program can be treated as a personal web portal and will automatically gather the desired information from several sources and combine it in a compact view, saving much of your browsing time and raising your Internet experience to a new level of comfort.

You can easily create your custom channels for any web-site and then exchange your channels with friends, or download thousands of ready-to use channels from the Online Channels Library or from web-sites that support WatzNew technology.

WatzNew can check any html, xml, plain text documents, or any other text documents that can be found on the Web (via HTTP protocol). It has the ability to check an unlimited amount of POP3 mailboxes and to use external Perl scripts to check web sites, web-based mailboxes and perform any tasks Perl can do.

Features include HTTP Proxy support with login/password authentication, support for password-protected pages, customizable refresh intervals for each channel, the ability to define search patterns to retrieve only the desired portions of html pages, customizable list of actions for each channel, automatic atomic time synchronization via the Internet (SNTP protocol) and much more.
