AimAtFile Fast File Search provides a fast and efficient way to find files by their content. It provides content search (document search) functionality based on Microsoft Indexing Service included in Windows 2000, 2003 and Windows XP.

You can search for files of many types: Microsoft Office Documents, HTML, PDF, Plain Text, etc. The Indexing Service scans files in the background as a low-priority process and AimAtFile requests this index and returns search results instantly. AimAtFile also provides a document preview. It lets you see the contents of found documents without opening them in their editor programs.

AimAtFile Fast File Search provides the following features:

• Fast searching using Microsoft Indexing Service to search files by their content.
• Local computer and network searching.
• Flexible queries.
• File masks - define one or multiple masks to search files using wildcards and Boolean expressions.
• Specific folders searching - define a root folder to search.
• Specific catalog searching.
• Results can be sorted by a file name, Indexing Service rank or modification date.
• Results are added to a result list in pieces of page size.

In this version new result columns, query fields and document preview options have been added. Now the program provides the Group Policy settings that make it more convenient for corporate users.
