AlmerBackup is a backup and restore utility that can be trusted to safeguard your important files. It can backup your files to floppy disks, hard drives, network drives, Zip drives, JAZ, SyQuest and most other removable devices.

The program can be set to automatically back up a set of files at system startup, system shutdown or to back up a set of files at a certain time of day and particular day or days of the week. A log file is kept that records all of AlmerBackup's actions as a further safeguard against losing your essential data files.

AlmerBackup can quickly be configured to a wide-range of preferences making it attractive to those of us who love to tweak software to within an inch of its life, yet it comes with default settings that are engineered to fully safeguard a system's files from loss due to power failures or malicious entities.

Universal Choose allows you to select whatever mode of copying files you prefer. AlmerBackup lets you save different versions of the same document (usually 5 different copies, but the number is customizable). This feature is known as "history revision" and gives you a significant advantage since it does not overwrite previous copies of the document, so you can return to earlier versions of the document. The program can automatically add dates to file names to make document identification easy.

Additionally, the program supports simple copy, deleting of out-of-date files from the destination directory, simple moving of files, and moving of files with the deleting of the originals. AlmerBackup can also compress backed up data to .zip files in order to save space. Add to this built-in planner and now you know why AlmerBackup is considered to be the champion of backup utilities.
